Boracay 2007

Because it's hot and I needed a break.

First of all, what's up with these lakes? From above they look like they surround the mountain (Makiling?) and they're almost perfect circles.

Behind the Caticlan airport. My first time flying SEAir, and it was a pleasant enough experience for me that I am considering never flying through Kalibo airport again.

New fees for visitors of Boracay.

Leaving Caticlan port.

The new Cagban Pier. Because the boats don't take you to White Beach itself anymore. From here, it's land transport to your resort.

Which means I finally got to see the town.

View from the resort. My relatives and I got a family room at the 3rd floor of Jony's in Station 1. Best Boracay resort I've stayed in so far.

One of several sand castles on the beach.

Which they spray with water every now and then, to keep it solid.

Where we had lunch. (Expensive.)

Where we shopped for stuff.

Where I bought really good fruit shakes.

Sunset.

Some shots from the following day:

Where the lumot was particularly bad. I hope the Environmental fee is going to something that solves this. Because while it wasn't as thick as the green carpet I saw the first time I went to Boracay (February, maybe two years ago), this still isn't good.

Going up the grotto, during low tide when it's actually possible to walk to it.

Really good taho. (Soy bean curd with syrup and tapioca.)

Women with the same hairstyles, traveling together.

The water was cool and refreshing, the people were interesting to look at, and I gave up the "healthy eating" and had something called lechon sisig. Yay for vacations!
