Calatagan, Batangas (Philippines): The sky beneath my feet
So I accepted another part-time job, this time as a travel writer. Juggling several part-time jobs as it is, taking on this one has made me decide to scale back on one of my contracts. (I need my Mental Health Days after all.)
Yesterday's "workday" sent me to Calatagan, Batangas, specifically to the Golden Sunset resort. (Yes, the one owned by Ricky Reyes.)
The view from my room.
The baywalk.
The lunch table.
"Mother" Ricky at the door.
Photo exhibit of cool Calatagan scenes.
Shuttles to take people around the resort.
Calatagan's Sto. Domingo de Silos Parish
Closer view of the cross. (I have my opinions about it but I'm no historian.)
Cape Santiago Lighthouse. It's not leaning; I am.
The view from the top of the lighthouse.
Antonio Coz Jr., third generation lighthouse caretaker.
The pools. Quite the kid-friendly place.
The view from the resort spa. Golden sunset indeed!
Airconditioned rooms where we stayed, very near the beach. (But very far from the restaurants and everything else.)
More of the sunset.
Cultural show after dinner.
Men on fire!
